The Young American Creative Patriotic Art Contest began in 1979 with the goals of bringing attention to up-and-coming artists and encouraging patriotism in young Americans. This contest has grown over the years and now consists of more than 4,000 young artists competing each year!
This contest is for students in grades 9th through 12th. Judging will begin at the local VFW Post level with each winner advancing to the next level. Each state's winners will advance on to national where they will be competing for awards totaling $33,000!
Here is a breakdown of scholarship amounts for winners at National:
FIRST PLACE: $15, 000
SECOND PLACE: $7,500
THIRD PLACE: $3,500
FOURTH-FIFTH PLACE: $1,500
SIXTH PLACE: $1,000
SEVENTH- TWELFTH PLACE: $500
Contestants will need to ensure that they have fully read contest rules and eligibility as this contest has specific requirements and regulations for art entries as well as certain types of art that are not accepted for admission. Submissions will need to be sent to our post by the March 31st deadline. Any submission made after this date will not be accepted. Submissions can be made by either mailing them to us at:
