The Veterans of Foreign Wars has a longstanding partnership with the Boy Scouts of America and the Girl Scouts of America. Since 1915 the VFW has been working with the Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts and recognizing members of their organizations who have risen above their peers for exemplifying superior citizenship, patriotism, community service, and love for their country.
While there is no age minimum for this achievement, the Scout being recommended must be a part of one of the following: Boy Scout Troop, Girl Scout Troop, Venturing Crew, or Sea Scout Ship and have received one of the following awards:
Eagle Scout Award
Girl Scout Gold Award
Venture Summit Award
Sea Scout Quartermaster Award

Submissions must be completed by each individual contestant and submitted to our post to begin the process of judging at a local level. Winners from the local level will then advance on through each level to the national level where winners will be selected for a scholarship.
Each applicant should submit a fully completed application and provide the required documentation that has been outlined in the application form by the deadline. Applications that are incomplete, do not have the required documentation, or have been submitted after the deadline date will not be accepted or reviewed.

Those who will be mailing their applications should ensure that they are sent in enough time to be received by the deadline date to be accepted.
