PATRIOT'S PEN

2023-2024 Theme 
"How are you inspired by America?"  
 
Entries must be submitted by midnight October 31, 2023.
Late submissions will not be accepted. 
  
 Each year more than 68,000 students in the sixth through eighth grade enter into the VFW Patriot's Pen essay contest for a chance to win their share of more 1.4 million dollars in state and national awards! This essay contest aims to get students to examine American history, along with their own experiences in modern American society, and express their views based on a patriotic theme chosen by the VFW National Commander-in-Chief. 
 
Be sure to thoroughly read through all rules and information.
Entries or applications that are not completed fully and as required will be automatically disqualified.

 Please note: it is the responsibility of each contest participant to ensure that their application and entry are submitted no later than the deadline and completed fully in order to ensure fairness for all participants. Entries can be sent via email or mailed to the post at:
